4/30/18

This week happened.

We went to Multi-Zone. Not much funny stuff happened, so there’s not much to report:)

I did get the package and it had my watch inside (that was the best and so now I’ll have a watch tan when I get back. It will be the greatest!) I would have pictures of what I got but we forgot the camera we took the pictures on, so next week!

Not much else happened. Just going about and trying to talk to people.

It’s a fun experience reading the Book of Mormon is my favorite part of the day.

We had a baptism this week for a girl named Esther. She doesn’t talk to me, but she is funny. She is 10 and a member’s daughter.

4/23/18

I turned 20!

Not much else-- BUT THERE'S THIS COOL SCRIPTURE! So, in the Book of Mormon around the chapters of Alma 24- 27 it talks about the Anti-Nephi Lehi’s and I’m sure most people back home would get it right away but I thought it was cool. So, in Alma 23:6 Mormon tells us that the people never fell away and I was like dang I wish the people I teach would never fall away and thank goodness for the scriptures because Mormon helped me understand why they did not! Because "they were converted unto the LORD" not to Ammon, not to Arron, not to blessing, not to the church, but to the Lord and so that truly changed how I teach people now :)

But just a really cool example of what he meant is in alma 27 verses 4-12. I think it’s kind of funny too. But if you take it into context it’s an inspiring story of only doing what the Lord would have them do!

But the funny part is verse 8-9 because, like a good Missionary Ammon resolved a concern, but it wasn't the actual concern of the king, and he was stubborn in truly following only the will of the lord, not of anyone else. It’s a fun scripture to read when teaching investigators and inviting them to pray and find if they should be baptized :)

 that’s all I got

No weekly update from our Missionary this week....

4/9/18

So, this week was really cool. Two stories

One. One of our investigators confessed a serious sin to us and so we counseled her (not sure if we should have or if bishop should… I just don’t know, but we did) We taught repentance and then told her to just stop and she feels like she can't because that how she is surviving right now. But I turned to a scripture in the Doctrine and Covenants (also, she accepts the Book of Mormon to be true so it’s really fun teaching her because it’s all the book of Mormon) I read Doctrine and Covenants 84:81-83 to her and promised her as she lived the commandments this blessing would be hers. (now side note: I did what I hate in other people and that’s reading a scripture out of context, but I was inspired to do it, so it was okay :)) and then we left. Well in our follow up appointment we sat down, said the prayer and she said “today teach me about miracles!” I was like, flip we have to teach her about how what the pastors here do is not all a miracle is.

But then she told us a story: She said that she used to have a job and so she wanted to work there again. To get to the place, she was going to do something that would not help her keep the commandment we taught and as she was about to, she felt she shouldn’t and instead asked someone to give her 20 cedi to go and come. She would pay her back and so she got it and went. Then when she was meeting with her old boss everything went well. Then when she had to come back home, her old boss gave her 50 cedi for no reason. She then made it home and repaid the 20 cedi and had 30 to spare. Truly a miracle and blessing for following the commandments of God. From that she now knows how the spirit feels and that what we teach is true and that God knows her and will uphold her.

Also, in my own life this same scripture (in context see verse 80) came to pass. The banks here were out of money and so was I. I had 20 cedi to last me until the banks got money. That was gone by Wednesday, but one of the Elders here went to Accra because he’s training a new Missionary and had 51 cedi left over from his travel and so the senior couple told me I could use that until the money from the bank came. On Saturday the banks received money and by that time I was down to 20 from that 50! So truly, take ye no thought for the things of the morrow God will sustain you as you keep his commandments:)

Also! Alma 15:16,18 is a wonderful example of how to minister to our companions and assigned families :) Out of time.  I’m sorry but we had the Baptism for Abigale and Richmond! :)
 Love you all

4/2/18

This week was good. We tried to baptize Abigale and Richmond and Jean Claude in between sessions of General Conference but the water was low again. I really don’t know why it happened again but I’m sure it was for a wise purpose.

Other than that Easter was fun we celebrated by watching General Conference. Don’t worry family I had a fried egg because…tradition I made up in my head, but I did it and it was good.

Not much else happened. Transfer news came. I’m staying with my companion but he will probably get his Visa within the next three weeks so an emergency transfer will probably happen. It’s okay because we will be prepared for it.

Well The church is true.  I know that and Jesus is really the Christ.  I promise he is truth.   Jesus Christ is the Savior.

Love you, bye! Card reader isn’t working so no pictures :(
